Trusting in God, Growing in Faith
“Faith, Hope and Love abide.” - 1 Corinthians 13:13
The word ABIDE is not used very often in everyday speech. It means “to stay, remain, hold fast". In a world with so much shifting around us, it is a blessing to know that faith, hope, and love are gifts from God which will never waver. We can and should look to the future with faith and hope, trusting in God’s abiding love.
Stewardship. What is it?
Stewardship is the way we share our gifts to support the mission and ministry of the church.
Maybe you’re asking yourself: “Why should I give? And what happens when I give?”
At First Presbyterian Church, we believe everyone’s time, talent and financial resources are God-given gifts, given to each person for the building up of the Kingdom. While money is no one’s favorite subject at church, finances are necessary to keep our ministries and missions going strong.
The money collected in the offering plate, along with pledges and gifts, goes into our Operating Fund unless designated otherwise. We set our annual mission and ministry goals based on anticipated giving. In addition, you may give or pledge to our Mortgage Fund that is solely used to pay off our loan. We encourage pledging to both, as you are able.
We have many ways to give...including in person, online, by mail, via IRA distributions, stock transfers, and more. If you would like to know more about how to give, contact us.
